Festival of Italian Literature in London

In its first two editions (2017 and 2018), FILL has brought together an impressive line-up of award-winning voices and new exciting authors discussing literature and politics, migration, translation, Italy, London, contemporary culture.

The programme of FILL 2018 included Strega Prize winner Walter Siti in conversation with authors Ali Smith and Olivia Laing, Strega Prize winner Nicola Lagioia with Prix Goncourt winner Mathias Énard on the future of the European novel, Italian Somali author Igiaba Scego, cutting-edge research agency Forensic Oceanography, a panel discussion on “The politics of translation”, “London as a second language”, the rise of nationalism in Italy and Europe, how literature can relate to our troubled times, and more.

FILL speaks to the entire community of Londoners, and all events are in English or in Italian with English translation provided. The festival will be back with its new edition in Autumn 2019, stay tuned for more details!
