Last year, the first edition of FILL enjoyed a great welcome from the London community and all the sessions of the festival went sold out days before the event. FILL is a festival of literature and ideas focusing on politics, migration, and contemporaneity. The festival wants to bring in authors and thinkers from different backgrounds – Italian, British, and international ones. Last year’s programme included Strega Prize winner Helena Janeczek, authors Iain Sinclair and Lauren Elkin, novelist Hanif Kureishi, Lampedusa-based doctor Pietro Bartolo, graphic novel artist Zerocalcare.
We can’t wait to announce this year’s programme! FILL 2018 will take place on 27-28 October – expect two days packed with panel discussions, performances, and special events. The politics of translation, what is going on in Italy, anti-fascism, Europe’s hopes and troubles will all feature in the programme, along with an array of other themes. Please stay tuned for the full programme and line-up.
